Ellisdale Construction collaborated closely with the property owners and Nelson Architects through inception, pre-construction, bidding, building, and design to deliver an award-winning, mixed-use condo and office building on time and within budget. Ellisdale helped all stakeholders navigate the project’s highly complex engineering and logistical challenges while providing expert value engineering services, ensuring a high finish result within the established budget.
Construction was complicated by the building’s proximity to the White House (within only three blocks), the building’s location, tightly squeezed by two adjacent properties, and only 50 feet of property frontage. Materials delivery and equipment movement, as well as traffic and security constraints, were significant logistical challenges that Ellisdale’s team overcame across the entirety of the project.
The Adele Building was completed in March 2018 and was valued at $1,200 per square foot. Shortly thereafter, the Adele was recognized as the highest finish level condo property in Washington D.C. and won the Best Boutique Condo in D.C. award of 2018.
